Duncanville is a city in the United States in southern Dallas County, Texas. The settling of the area began in 1845, when Crawford Trees, a native of Illinois, purchased several thousand acres south of Camp Dallas.
The population of Duncanville at the 2010 census was 38,524. The city is part of the area of Best Southwest, including Duncanville, Cedar Hill, DeSoto, and Lancaster. In 1880, the area was reached by the Chicago, Texas and Mexican Central Railway, and Duncan Switch was built, named after a line supervisor.
